This current eruption of xenophobic violence we have been seeing in South Africa can be seen as nothing more than the complete breakdown of the rule of law. Maintaining order is the most fundamental responsibility of a government and ours is failing, miserably.

I was, however, pleased to hear (thank you 702 ^_^) that our ANC government has switched away from their usual denialism and have accepted that we have a crisis. What I'm hoping is that they're not expecting that to be enough, they now have to DEAL with the crisis and with 2010 around the corner you can be sure that the world is watching.

Our country's future (at least as far as the travel industry and overseas investors are concerned) hinges on our actions in the next few days, weeks and months.

If I was a god-fearing man I'd ask you to say a prayer for wisdom but as it stands... Here's holding thumbs.
